Stewards of Justice
The Justice Foundation of West Michigan (JFWM) was originally formed to fund and maintain the Grand Rapids Bar Association law library. Later, Grand Rapids legal visionaries spearheaded a major JFWM campaign to found and fund the Legal Assistance Center, a community resource that helps thousands of people navigate the legal system every year. The JFWM currently provides the Grand Rapids Bar Association funding for important programming in our local schools, such as Constitution Day, which teaches local fifth graders about the Constitution (as well as giving them each a copy), and the 3Rs program, in which lawyer volunteers and GRBA Staff meet monthly with approximately 150 ninth graders per year to discuss the Rights, Responsibilities, and Realities of being an informed citizen provided with a civics education.
Now, the JFWM Trustees desire to grow the Foundation so that our donors may fund meaningful work that will advance justice, strengthen public trust in the rule of law, and foster a more equitable community. The Justice Foundation aspires to grow the financial resources to respond quickly when supporting innovative ideas and community needs.
Your Participation as a Steward of Justice is evidence of professional distinction. Stewards of Justice believe in the mission of the JFWM and the power of banding together to create positive change in our community.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Stewards of Justice commit to contributing $1,000 to the Justice Foundation of West Michigan. Stewards of Justice are asked to fulfill their pledge by making a one-time payment of $1000 or monthly contributions until they have reached an aggregate total of $1,000. Sustaining Members are invoiced perpetually until they request to be removed from the program.
